REVIEW:
Although ostensively for staying guests you may be lucky enough to score a spare table in Thorn Park's tiny dining room. The menu is set but always beautifully & creatively cooked with influences from around the culinary globe. Service is refined and the cellar has many of the best local offerings.
Thorn Park is a lovely 1850s homestead situated in one of Australia's most beautiful wine areas; this is arguably the best place to stay in this area ... to search out Australia's best rieslings and some great reds, and return here to feast on great food. There are only six double rooms either in the main house, the coach house or the converted barn and there are often cooking schools at weekends, so book ahead. A beautiful spot to base yourself for any foray into the famous Clare Valley.
