There seems to be a return to the art of baking with various books crossing my desk with this focus. Few are quite as comprehensive as this product of the AWW Test Kitchen. Rather than recipes handed down from earlier generations AWW checks, tests and refines recipes based on Australian ingredients - cakes, biscuits, pies and tarts and more. BAKE covers baking techniques, equipment, measurements, and all the information you need for successful baking. And loads of recipes explained in fine detail. Great photos help with decoration and presentation once you get the baking gloves on.
