There are two reviews on Eat & Drink under this title which is extremely confusing ... and the publisher of this book is equally confused. The books have different covers and different content, the previous release is mostly dishes that you should eat before you die, and often their recipes. This release covers individual foodstuffs under the headings fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meats, aromatics, grain, bakery and sweetmeats. Some are maintstream, some exotic, and some just a little scary such as rattlesnake or Casu Marzu - an illegal Sardinian cheese where the centre is infested with maggots that excrete a soft creamy cheese and is eaten maggots and all.
Fascinating and loaded with information on all sorts of things you may wish to try.
