I've been lucky enough to spend some time in Liguria, and visit the restuarnat that Lucio grew up in (and that his cousin Mario owns to this day). There is something very enticing about the area and the sometimes rather shy people who populate the hills and coves along this coastal strip of north-western Italy. David Dale's writing brings the area to life in the stories of their visit and around the recipes that make up the bulk of the book. Even Lucio discovered much to bring back to his charming Sydney restaurant, and the (180) recipes are described with passion and clear instruction to achieve good results. Or simply enjoy reading the book and have lunch at Lucio's in paddington, Sydney.
