Now I follow the principle that BBQing should all be about the taste of wood coals with hints of char and smoke ... gas barbecues are for convenient outdoor entertaining but do little more than you can achieve on a stove top. Especially modern stove-tops and cast iron griddles. Peter's collection of recipes (from the consolidation of three previous BBQ books) is more about quality casual dining that acual BBQing. This is not to detract from the depth of content,just to say that it's a great general book for easy entertaining rather than recipes that need the BBQ to give the dishes that distinct character. Salads and sweets are included, with colourful photos to help with presentation.
