SLOW Food Perth is a convivium of Slow Food, a not-for-profit international organisation founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions, people's dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world ý people, communities, animals, plants and the environment.
Slow Food is based in Bra, Italy. It has almost 100,000 members in 107 countries. In Western Australia there are four Slow Food convivia. Australia has more than 30 convivia and one of Slow Food's fastest-growing international memberships.
