Tasting Note:
Tasted both under cork and screw-cap, both were in excellent condition, and both showing secondary maturation characters. Both showed sweet Heathcote red fruit shiraz and ripe red tomato (real heirloom ones, in season) and a hint of background pepper ... Stelvin: Less developed with more defined fruit with hints of fresh dark tobacco, and a longer, sweeter palate. This will take a few more years before it reaches the developmentof the wine under cork. Cork: Sweet fruit with earth and polished leather developing, in a mature stage of development and softer finish. If you prefer development in your red (and drinking it soon) go for the cork, if you're intending to cellar it grab the screwcap version. * * * * *
