Tasting Note:
Blue fruits - blackberry and dark plum, bay leaf, white pepper all abound in this rich, and suprisingly (for all that) refined, shiraz ... a lovely example of what Heathcote shiraz should be, and deserving of a price tag so rarely earned. Richly layered, but finely textured, palate with hints of chocolate, cedar, leather and spice with more (advantageous) development under cork, but more potential under screwcap. And this wine deserves several more years as the fruit concentration and oak need to marry and live happily - if not forever, at least for a while. * * * * *
